COMPOUNDING SELECTION CHAOS
ChaosThe fund will act decisively when market instability and dislocation create exceptional opportunity.
Survival of the FittestLet economic forces shape portfolio weight. As companies gain or lose market value, their influence within the portfolio will rise or fall accordingly.
CompoundingCompound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it ... he who doesn't ... pays it.

Three principles. One durable framework.

  • Human history bends towards innovation.
  • Market forces will naturally determine which participants become dominant.
  • Periods of instability will occasionally create unusually attractive opportunities for patient capital.

Human civilization evolves toward greater technological capability.

The arc of human history has bent toward greater complexity, productivity, and technological capability. Our technology depends upon an interconnected economic ecosystem of energy, infrastructure, minerals, computation, communications, and innovation. The portfolio will therefore seek exposure both to companies advancing the technological frontier and to the essential businesses that enable, supply, and sustain this ecosystem of advancement.

Adaptive selection mechanism.

The portfolio will favor rules-based, market-cap-weighted indexes that allow capital to migrate naturally toward companies gaining economic relevance and market value. This structure is intended to mimic a competitive ecosystem. Successful companies are permitted to grow into larger portfolio weights, while declining companies gradually lose influence and may ultimately be replaced.

Long-term ownership with rare, aggressive opportunism.

The default posture is long-term ownership rather than frequent trading or attempts to time normal market cycles. Markets periodically experience moments of instability and dislocation. During these rare periods, the strategy will preserve the flexibility to act aggressively when prospective returns appear unusually favorable relative to risk.

How it works together

Participation without prediction.

The framework is designed to participate in broad technological progress, adapt as market leadership changes, and avoid confusing constant activity with disciplined investing.

  1. Start with the direction of travelTechnological capability expands through a connected economic system.
  2. Let selection do its workRules-based weighting allows winners to grow and laggards to recede.
  3. Give ownership timeLong horizons preserve participation in compounding and adaptation.
